　　Delivering big blockbuster movie sound from a discreet 5.1 loudspeaker package. Improving on the original multi-award winning HTS101, the HTS101 XP, has been designed to look as good as it sounds. The compact, wood constructed HTS Satellites boast point-source coaxial driver technology on the inside and a subtle blend of brushed and gloss black textures on the outside. The TS2.8 Subwoofer, packaged to give eXtra Power (XP), uses a 200 W digital amplifier and two 8in drivers in a small cabinet for big bass sound without the big box inconvenience.

　　The HTS brings movies to life with crisp dialogue, detailed effects and rich, deep bass.

　　For seamless surround sound the HTS101 XP comes with five identical HTS Satellite speakers that can be positioned vertically or horizontally for centre channel placement. Each speaker features a new 100 mm (4.00”) oval mid/bass driver and a coaxially mounted 20 mm (0.78”) WideBand tweeter with neodymium motor for perfect frequency alignment. Tonally matched on every channel, HTS101 XP delivers a truly immersive experience with accurate, intelligible dialogue and rich tone thanks to the wood cabinet and Tannoy’s extensive loudspeaker design experience. Each HTS satellite is supplied with a concealed wall mounting bracket and a removable grille with Tannoy badge that can be rotated to suit orientation.

　　Tannoy’s TS2.8 Subwoofer produces room filling low frequency effects from a compact and easy to place design. The eXtra Power (200W RMS), high efficiency digital amplifier and sophisticated DSP engine drive the side-mounted 200 mm (8.00”) long-throw driver. This works in in conjunction with a mass-loaded 200 mm (8.00”) auxiliary bass radiator (ABR) on the opposite side of TS2.8 Subwoofer to generate large scale movie sound form a small and easy to place cabinet.

　　Compatible with the widest range of AV amplifiers and receivers, HTS101 XP is ideal for stereo and all 5.1 channel surround sound formats.

　　Drive Unit

　　HTS Satellite loudspeakers improve on the original multi award winning HTS101 model with upgraded advanced new coaxial drivers. Drawing on Tannoy’s expertise with point-source driver technologies, the HTS Satellite driver features an innovative 100 mm (4.00”) elliptical shaped mid driver with a 20 mm (0.78”) titanium dome tweeter assembly mounted in front of the centre of the main driver.

　　This HTS Satellite’s coaxial driver configuration delivers improved phase coherence and driver integration resulting in a detailed and articulate sound.

　　The elliptical driver uses a lightweight paper pulp cone with large ferrite motor system for a smooth and expressive sound through the mid band frequencies. This makes dialogue more natural and intelligible, musical scores more engaging and allows seamless transition from low frequency to high frequency effects. The HTS Satellite’s tweeter uses a titanium dome and neodymium motor to extend the high frequency response to over 40 kHz. This ensures crisp detailing of the sound throughout the audio band.

　　The packaged TS2.8 Subwoofer is a radical new model from Tannoy, designed to maximise Low Frequency Effects output from a small and easy to place cabinet. A 200 W RMS amplifier drives it’s long-throw, high power handling 200 mm (8.00”) bass driver mounted on the side of the cabinet. A mass loaded Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR) is mounted on the opposite side of the cabinet to ensure very low frequency reproduction, high output and excellent bass diffusion into the room.

　　Suitable for AV amplifiers and Receivers rated at between 25 W and 100W per channel, the HTS101 XP system’s high efficiency Satellites and eXtra Power subwoofer offers exceptional dynamic range and very high volumes when required.

　　Construction

　　The HTS Satellite speakers benefits from Tannoy’s decades of experience in designing the world’s finest loudspeaker cabinets. Constructed from high density particle board panels (not moulded plastic like some competitor models) each loudspeaker cabinet works in harmony with the new drivers to deliver a rich and expressive sound with a wide range of movie and music material. Each HTS Satellite is finished in a subtle blend of brushed textured panels and high gloss black end caps.

　　All five HTS Satellites are identical for outstanding tonal integration and smooth pans of sound around the room.

　　Another advantage of the coaxial driver configuration is that HTS Satellite loudspeakers can be positioned horizontally or vertically without affecting the sound. This allows the unit selected for centre channel dialogue channel to be placed conveniently under a TV or on a TV cabinet. On the removable grille, the discreet Tannoy badge can be rotated depending on the orientation of the speaker. Each HTS satellite is supplied with a miniature wall bracket for discreet wall mount installation.The eXtra Power (XP) TS2.8 Subwoofer, uses a heavyweight fibreboard construction allowing the cabinet to handle deep bass at high volumes without distortion or colouration. The opposing driver configuration reduces cabinet vibration and Tannoy’s conical feet are suitable for hard and carpeted floors. Cosmetically matching the HTS Satellites the TS2.8 Subwoofer has the same brushed textured finish with full-size removable grilles as end caps.
